She was the first woman ever to swim the event under 56 seconds.

Dana is an ambassador for the American Heart Association and its Go Red For Women movement. Due to Dana’s experience with a heart condition as a child, she is proud to support AHA in its mission to educate women about heart disease. Dana received a Woman’s Day Red Dress Award in February 2013 for her contributions in the fight against heart disease in women.
