Governor of Hawaii
Governor David Y. Ige was sworn in as the eighth governor of the state of Hawaii on December 1, 2014. He is leading changes in state government that position Hawaii as a world leader in solving challenges of our time, including climate change and sustainability. A practicing electrical engineer for 34 years, Gov. Ige began his political career in 1985 when he was appointed to the Hawaii House of Representatives. He was elected to the Hawaii Senate in 1994.
