David Millar

Political Analyst and Consultant

David Millar is a national security analyst with experience covering East Asia, Southeast Asia and the Middle East. He specializes in foreign political culture, doctrine, and decisionmaking, and has authored several long-term studies on how countries respond to foreign policy challenges. As a consultant, he has worked with both the U.S. government and private clients, including the Eurasia Group and the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.

For five years he kept U.S. officials appraised on changes in the East Asian political dynamic, receiving recognition for innovation, impact, and exceptional tradecraft. He now teaches Chinese Foreign Policy at Hawaii Pacific University and serves as an advisor to the U.S. military.

David is an avid traveler, speaks some part of five languages and has visited more than 30 countries. He currently resides in Hawaii.
