Diana El-Azar

Director of Media, Entertainment and Information Industries at the World Economic Forum

Diana El-Azar is the Director of Media, Entertainment and Information Industries at the World Economic Forum. She oversees the Forum’s partnerships with global media companies and media-related projects such as "Shaping Norms and Values in Digital Media" which explores the relationship between as freedom of expression, intellectual property and privacy. Diana also leads two multi-stakeholder expert groups (Global Agenda Councils) that focus on Social Media and the Future of Media and serves as an Advisory Committee member for Creative for Good.

Before joining the World Economic Forum as a Global Leadership Fellow in January 2006, Diana held various positions at Reuters in Beirut, London, Paris and New York. Before joining the business world, Diana worked at the United Nations Development Programme and lectured in economics at the American University of Beirut. Diana holds a BA in Economics (cum laude) from American University of Beirut and an M. Phil. in Economics of Developing Countries, Cambridge University.
