Dina Bakst Co-Founder & Co-President, A Better Balance: The Work and Family Legal Center

Dina Bakst, Co-President of A Better Balance (ABB), co-founded ABB to advance the legal rights of pregnant women and caregivers in the American workplace. Bakst’s New York Times op-ed, Pregnant and Pushed Out of a Job, inspired the introduction of the federal Pregnant Workers Fairness Act. Bakst is co-author of the newly released book, Babygate: What You Really Need to Know About Pregnancy and Parenting in the American Workplace. Prior to founding A Better Balance, Ms. Bakst was an attorney with the NOW Legal Defense and Education Fund (now Legal Momentum) where she engaged in litigation and conducted public policy advocacy on a wide range of women's issues including economic justice, child care and reproductive rights. Prior to NOW Legal Defense, Dina served as a litigation associate with Kaye, Scholer LLP. Ms. Bakst is a graduate of the University of Michigan Law School and Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Michigan.
