Donald J. Laackman

President of Harold Washington College

Donald J. Laackman has been president of Harold Washington College, one of the seven City Colleges of Chicago, since March 2011. Prior to taking the helm of the school, Laackman served as principal at the Civic Consulting Alliance (CCA), where he managed CCA’s Workforce and Education program areas, helping to create a strategy for improving Career and Technical Education for 25,000 Chicago Public School high school students, among other initiatives.

Laackman previously served as a Managing Director at Accenture, one of the world’s leading consulting firms. Over a 23-year career there, he led strategic, change, and information technology solution initiatives. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Chicago and a Masters of Public Policy from the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago.
