Dr. Mike Metke began his duties as President of Tyler Junior College on December 1, 2007. Previously he was President of Lake Washington Technical College (now Institute of Technology) in the greater Seattle area for eight years and prior to that he served for seven years as vice president for instruction and student development at South Texas Community College. Since joining TJC, he has championed a $26 million infrastructure overhaul; initiated a safety and civility campaign; led numerous fitness activities; and began the College’s largest-ever capital campaign and bond proposal, for a new 130,000 square foot nursing and health sciences center.
