Eamonn Conrad

Eamonn Conrad is currently as a post-doctoral fellow in chemistry at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, BC, working in polymer science. Conrad was born in Dartmouth NS and moved to Vancouver in 2010 upon completion of university (St. Francis Xavier '06, Dalhousie '10).

In 2011 at age 26 Conrad was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma in his right leg and hip. He had treatment consisting of surgery, chemotherapy and radiation over the course of 12 months. Now 28, Conrad has been in remission for a little over 12 months with check-ups every three months.

He is a beginner skier and cyclist as is till getting his legs back underneath him and trying to reestablish his career. Conrad currently writes twice a week on his blog about whatever cancer patient and survivorship issues that are on his mind that week.
