Eric Heller is a theoretical physicist and chemist, whose research involves waves of many sorts. Be they quantum waves, sound waves, or water waves, Heller is interested. His research spans quantum mechanics, wave chaos theory, semiconductors, and oceanography.
Heller is the author of the new book, Why You Hear What You Hear, about acoustical waves, music, and psychoacoustics. The book has a closely linked website, whyyouhearwhatyouhear.com, and is inspired by a course Heller developed at Harvard together with his colleague, Professor John Huth.
