Co-editor, 'Voices Beyond Bondage: An Anthology of Verse by African Americans of the 19th Century'

Erika DeSimone and Fidel Louis are the co-editors of Voices Beyond Bondage: An Anthology of Verse by African Americans of the 19th Century, newly published by NewSouth Books. DeSimone and Louis are independent scholars who undertook this work without university backing or funding of any sort. Erika DeSimone is currently an editorial assistant at the Modern Language Association (MLA). Fidel Louis is a veteran writer and editor of several New York City news publications and is currently a consultant for business and government projects.
