Fernando Bretos is Director of the Cuba Marine Research and Conservation Program (www.cubamar.org), a project of The Ocean Foundation. He is also Curator of Ecology at the Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science (www.miamisci.org) where he oversees a volunteer urban habitat restoration project (www.miamisci.org/muve) and is designing marine science content for the Museum’s new, state-of-the-art facility and aquarium opening in downtown Miami’s Museum Park in 2016. A Cuban-American based in Miami, he has spent over half of his life understanding the biological links between his two homelands.
