Forest Trends

Pioneering Finance for Conservation

Forest Trends was created in 1998 to address the urgent challenges of deforestation and ecosystem degradation globally. Our unique approach is to bridge traditional divides and promote the value of nature for the benefits it provides and on which life on this planet depends. We think of ecosystems as assets, and connect policy-makers, businesses, communities, and investors to create and develop economic models and tools that support growth that is in sync with nature and that balance the conflicting demands placed on our natural resources – for food, energy, and functioning ecosystems. By placing economic value in our natural ecosystems, we are creating one of the most powerful incentives for sustaining them now and in the future.
