Francis Calpotura

Francis Calpotura, Founder and Director of Transnational Institute for Grassroots Research and Action (TIGRA), an immigrant rights and economic justice organization based in Oakland, California. He believes in developing organizing strategies that leverages the economic power of transnational families to tilt globalization towards justice and fairness. He has spent the past 30 years as a community organizer, writer, and campaigner for racial justice and human rights. Francis is an immigrant from the Philippines and currently lives and works in Oakland.
