Gene Koo is a Fellow at the Berkman Center for Internet & Society, where he focuses primarily on the potential of the Internet to revolutionize education and secondarily on grassroots organizing. Prior to Berkman, he worked at Massachusetts Law Reform Institute on developing websites that would link together poverty lawyers or educate the public; he also founded the online campus of Legal Aid University. During college he studied under grassroots guru Marshall Ganz. Gene also serves as an informal advisor to the Boston Faith + Justice Network, through which progressive evangelical and mainline Christians organize to end global poverty. He holds a JD from Harvard Law School and a BA from Harvard College.
