Former Speaker of the Maine House of Representatives

Hannah is a former Speaker of the Maine House of Representatives, where
she served as the youngest female speaker in the country from 2008Β­2010. Elected at the age of 25, she served for eight years as a member of the Maine House before being term-limited. During her time as Speaker, House Majority Leader, and Health and Human Services Committee Chair, Hannah spearheaded issues of health coverage, environmental and public health, renewable energy, and fair budget policy. The "Kids Safe Products Act" is among her most significant accomplishments; the law allows Maine to start identifying and phasing out chemicals of concern in children's and
consumer products.

Today, Hannah works with the Safer Chemicals, Healthy Families Coalition, she serves on her local school board and helps run her family's small business. With her husband, she is raising a one year-old daughter and a black lab on a small Maine island.
