Jacob Alperin-Sheriff was born on October 23, 1987 in Washington, D.C. After a brief 18-year exile in Princeton, New Jersey, he's returned to his birth city as a college student at the George Washington University, where he is currently a junior. Although he's a computer science major, his passion is politics.
He got his start in the blogosphere at Daily Kos, where he posts under the moniker DemocraticLuntz. His work there has given him a reputation as a guru of voting records, and he's been called "a political wonk of the highest magnitude; on a scale of 1 to 10, he’s a 14."
He interned at Barack Obama's Portsmouth, New Hampshire office during the weeks leading up to that state's primary. He has had no involvement with that campaign since February 5th, 2008.
Jacob also has a personal blog, Hat Thief. The name was inspired by his exploits at the 2007 Yearly Kos Convention in Chicago.
