Jaime Lawson

Designer and Owner, Bleu Garters

Designer Jaime Lawson set out to revive the the garter industry, which had been asleep for decades, getting comfortable with fluffy pillows of passé lace and scrunchie-like poly satins. The often overlooked accessory had so much potential! Unfortunately it was stagnant, living off its former glory days of the 80's (a story all too common). Why had it been stereotyped instead of celebrated? It had the capability to be a fun, delicate, heirloom keepsake. Why was it cornered solely as a tool for garter tosses? And why do women not wear garters as a sensual piece of special lingerie throughout the year?

Time for a makeover! A garter revolution! And a re-evolution!

Let's start from the ground up with a completely new garter style: the Tie Garter. Jaime drew from her background as a Ballerina to determine flattering proportions for the female body, her Physics degree to engineer new elastic methods so that the silky Tie Garter would not shimmy down the leg, and Fashion Design studies to choose eye candy colors, drool worthy laces, intricate beading, and timeless fabrics. Bleu Garters' new Tie Garters are not to be tossed; they are to be kept, loved, and worn anytime.

Jaime currently lives in Los Angeles, where she worked for luxury design house Rodarte, studying clothing and accessories of inventive design, utmost in quality. She works as a Wardrobe Stylist on occasion for celebrities, photo shoots, and short films.
