Jess Cornaggia, assistant professor of finance, is an expert in corporation finance, credit ratings, financial intermediation and household finance. His recent research includes “Does Banking Competition Affect Innovation?”, where he found that banking competition can help small businesses by increasing access to credit – allowing small businesses to operate independently and fund innovative projects rather than potentially being acquired by public companies. He previously worked as a research assistant at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).
