Jesse Ortiz was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. After graduating from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine with a double major in English and math, Jesse moved to Cambridge, Massachusetts to participate in a service year with Life Together, the Boston-based program of the Episcopal Service Corps. This upcoming fall, Jesse will begin a Ph.D. program in either Cultural Studies or American Studies. In their free time, Jesse enjoys vegan baking, body-positive fitness and scheming to overthrow capitalism.
