Jim has been a volunteer, donor/bundler and candidate in Democratic Party politics since his childhood. In 2008 he was a candidate for the US Senate (D-NC), the second openly-gay person in US history to run for that office. He has been a guest on CNBC, NPR, NBC, ABC and FOX and is a contributor to numerous publications including The Daily Beast and The Huffington Post. He is Co-founder and CEO of Dock, a social commerce startup and has served on numerous boards including The New School, The Partnership for New York City's mayoral economic development advisory committee and the Alliance for the Arts in NYC. He lives in Brooklyn with his partner Joseph Myott.
