Jim Goldman joined Zeno Group in June 2013 as Executive Vice President working in the firm’s Silicon Valley office. He is responsible for senior level media strategy for a host of clients, C-suite and executive messaging/thought leadership, media training and speech coaching, as well as crisis communications and strategic platforms. He works with a range of consumer and technology clients across the Zeno network.

Prior to Zeno, Jim held senior leadership roles at Burson-Marsteller, joining the agency in September, 2010 after a 22-year career as a broadcast, financial journalist. Jim counseled a number of global companies about financial and broadcast press, executive thought leadership, digital and broadcast video production, and product and strategic communications, assisting clients in bridging their consumer, financial and technology messaging. Before assuming these responsibilities in Jan. 2012, Jim served as Chairman of Burson-Marsteller’s US Technology Practice.

Previously, Jim was CNBC's Silicon Valley Bureau Chief, hired by the network in Nov. 2003, and responsible for covering and coordinating all Silicon Valley and Northern California business and technology news for the network. Jim was one of the network’s most prolific contributors, appearing on CNBC programming at least 30 times a week. His blog “TechCheck,” on CNBC.com, attracted nearly 1 million visitors a month. He was also a frequent contributor to the weekend editions of NBC Nightly News, as well as other NBC programming, including “The Today Show.”

Jim came to CNBC after opening TechTV's Silicon Valley Bureau in 2001 and serving as the network's Silicon Valley Bureau Chief for two years. He covered technology news all over the United States, Australia, and Mexico. His reports on a Florida-based chipmaker led NASDAQ to halt trading in its shares and federal investigators to expand their probe into the company's products. His reports were regularly seen on CNN and ABC News.

Prior to TechTV, he served as technology correspondent for ABCNews in New York where his reports could be seen on “Good Morning America,” “World News Weekend,” “World News Now,” and “World News This Morning.” Jim was also a frequent guest on the ABCNews Radio Network.

He has been recognized with several national business journalism awards, and was named by Adweek magazine as one of the nation's top two most influential broadcast business/technology journalists in 2003. Both the San Jose Mercury News and the San Jose Business Journal have named Jim one of Silicon Valley's most influential individuals.

After graduating from Brown University with a double major, he became the Silicon Valley's first, full-time on-air technology reporter in 1989. He has worked as high-tech business editor for KNTV (now the NBC affiliate of the San Francisco Bay area) and KRON (independent). Jim also created and produced the internationally distributed "Silicon Valley Business This Week" for KICU TV, an independent station in San Jose, CA.
