Jina Krause-Vilmar, Director at the Near East Foundation (NEF), is an expert in refugees, livelihoods and gender, working to create safe pathways to economic resilience for crisis-affected women and adolescent girls for the past 10 years. Jina provides strategic and technical guidance and leads NEF’s gender, economic security and conflict programming efforts in the Middle East and Africa, primarily focusing on urban poverty, gender equality, civil society development and food security. She has worked in collaboration with various UN agencies, and international and national NGOs to conduct research and develop guidance, train and build the capacity of partners, and advocate to policymakers on effective and safe livelihood programs.

Jina earned her MSc in Comparative Politics at the London School of Economics and a Bachelor's degree in Government from the University of Texas at Austin.
