Joanna Colangelo is an Americana music and culture writer, having acquired her storytelling voice by traveling America countless times over –- by car, bus and train –- and, on occasion, piloting small planes over the red rocks of Arizona and above the smooth waters of the Pacific Ocean. She’s a frequent contributor to the Columbia Journal of American Studies, a featured blogger on the Americana music hub, No Depression and a one-time tour promoter for Country Music Television. When she’s not writing, Joanna can be found documenting and filming Grateful Dead folktales as the director of the multimedia Endless Tour Project, and is generally listening to the acoustic blues of Muddy Waters, relaxing to the hymnals of Ralph Stanley or singing along to The Band.
