Joe Grace

Gun violence prevention advocate

Joe Grace is a gun violence prevention advocate who was formerly the executive director of CeaseFirePA. He built a statewide campaign to require the reporting of lost or stolen guns to the police, leading 49 cities and towns to pass local laws or resolutions supporting that measure. He campaigned against Stand Your Ground legislation in Pennsylvania.

He started the Licensed To Kill petition to repeal Florida's Stand Your Ground law that could prevent the successful prosecution of George Zimmerman. Currently that petition has been signed by over 225,000 people.

Joe served as chief spokesman for the City of Philadelphia, and managed numerous congressional campaigns. As a journalist earlier in his career, his reporting was twice nominated for the Pulitzer Prize.
