John Compton is an assistant professor of political science at Chapman University. His articles and book reviews have appeared in the Review of Politics, American Political Thought, and Perspectives on Politics. His first book, The Evangelical Origins of the Living Constitution, was published by Harvard University Press in 2014. Prior to beginning graduate study in political science, he worked as a legislative aide to a member of Congress.
