John-Stuart Fauquet is a theatre director, teacher, writer, and musician. J.S. holds a PhD in theatre from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His research focuses on popular and paratheatrical performance practices, particularly those within depression-era America. He is currently working on two book projects about the Federal Theatre Project: a collection of play adaptations for youth and a history of the New York City Variety Theatre (1935-1939).
