Jordan Melograna

Creative Director, Rooted in Rights

A graduate of the filmmaking program at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, Jordan Melograna has been producing, shooting, and editing video content for the last decade, with a focus on non-profit and advocacy media. Currently, Jordan is the Creative Director at Rooted in Rights, a project of Disability Rights Washington. He creates content that focuses on the rights of people with disabilities in voting, education, criminal justice and other issues.

Jordan is the recipient of the Media for a Just Society video award two years in a row (2012 and 2013) for short documentaries he produced at Brave New Films. He also directed and produced "Redemption of the Prosecutor" - a short documentary screened at the Chicago International Social Justice Film Festival and Atlanta Documentary Film Festival. He served as a producer and editor on the series, Prison Profiteers, which has been featured in Business Week and The Nation magazine, and was awarded Outstanding Achievement for Series, and for Writing at the Los Angeles Web Fest.
