Joshua M. Liao, MD, MSc, FACP is as physician in the Department of Medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine where he is also the Associate Medical Director of Contracting and Value-Based Care. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine and trained at Brigham & Women’s Hospital where he was also a Clinical Fellow in Medicine at Harvard Medical School. In addition to seeing patients, he works with colleagues to understand how the medical community can use policy, measurement, and lessons from other fields to help deliver high value, evidence based care that meets patients’ needs. As a Southern transplant who has lived in the NE and PNW, he stocks a winter survival kit that consists of notepads, green coffee, and a collection of Raymond Carver short stories.
