Joshua Meyrowitz is a Professor of Communication at the University of New Hampshire and author of the award-winning book No Sense of Place: The Impact of Electronic Media on Social Behavior. In July 1985, his live interview on CNN about his research was interrupted for the announcement of Christa McAuliffe as the Teacher in Space, after which he offered CNN his analysis of the reasons for her selection. Immediately after the January 28 accident, he spoke and wrote about the underpinnings of the disaster and was interviewed on CNN and in other media.
