Karie Meltzer

Editor-in-Chief, The Austin Post

Karie Meltzer is the Editor-in-Chief of The Austin Post, an online, user-submitted community newspaper for Austin, Texas. Meltzer's work has been published in The Texas Observer, The Houston Press, Texas Weekly, Austin Monthly Magazine and New Orleans Magazine. Before joining The Austin Post, she had a brief stint in state government, working as assistant press secretary for Texas Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson.

Meltzer was a research assistant for Bill Minutaglio's book "Molly Ivins: A Rebel Life." She received her B.A. in English from Tulane University and her M.A. in Journalism from The University of Texas at Austin.
