Katerina Sokou is the Washington DC correspondent for “Skai TV” and “Kathimerini” Daily, the biggest broadsheet newspaper in Greece, where she is also a columnist. She is a visiting scholar at Elliott School of International Affairs, a principal at News Intelligence and a member of the advisory board of European Affairs, the online journal of the DC-based European Institute. She reports on transatlantic relations, US politics and international economics. She has covered extensively the Greek debt crisis, providing analysis to international media. In the past, she worked at the business desk of the Washington Post, was International Financial News editor at “Kathimerini” and a reporter at “To Vima” Athens newspaper, where she worked at the foreign desk, the business desk and as European News editor. Katerina has a first-class honors degree in History from the University of Ioannina, Greece, an MA in International Studies from the University of Warwick, UK and an MSc in Journalism from Columbia University, where she was a Knight-Bagehot Fellow in Economics and Business Journalism.
