Katerina Sokou is a Washington DC correspondent for Greek Daily Kathimerini and SKAI TV.
As a financial journalist specializing on the Eurozone economy and her native Greece, she has closely followed the international financial crisis and the Greek debt crisis, interviewing prominent economists and policy-makers, writing opinion pieces and providing comment for news media in the US and Europe.
A trained historian with postgraduate studies in international political economy and journalism, she was head of the International Financial News desk at Kathimerini. Before that, she reported on the Greek and Eurozone economy for ten years at To Vima newspaper.
Katerina is an alumna of the Knight-Bagehot fellowship in Economics and Business Journalism at Columbia University and of the US Department of State 'Young European Leaders' program. She is also a member of the New York Financial Writers' Association, the Association of European Journalists and the Journalists' Union of the Athens Daily Newspapers.
