Kirk Cheyfitz

CEO and Chief Editorial Officer, Story Worldwide

Kirk Cheyfitz is CEO and chief editorial officer of Story Worldwide, the global brand storytelling ad agency he founded in 1999. An award-winning journalist, author, editor, pioneer in non-traditional marketing and successful international media entrepreneur, Kirk came to marketing after realizing that traditional media and traditional marketing were on a collision course. That collision, Kirk notes, occurred in 2009 and neither journalism nor advertising as we know them have survived the crash.

Kirk has been creating stories for the web since the '90s. His agency's latest project, executed with children's publishing specialist Bookerella, is a groundbreaking book-app for kids—the first nonfiction book-app to be built on a 3D platform: Bats! Furry Fliers of the Night.

Kirk was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize while covering urban affairs and
other topics for the Detroit Free Press and the late Knight Newspaper chain.
He also was a finalist for the National Magazine Award. He won the
prestigious Sigma Delta Chi Bronze Medallion for investigative reporting.
His work has appeared in most of America's major newspapers. Kirk¹s business book, Thinking Inside The Box, was published by Simon & Schuster's non-fiction imprint the Free Press.
