Laura E. Kelly

Social media author consultant and editor

For many years, Laura E. Kelly was VP, Global Editor-in-Chief of the Reader’s Digest book division that publishes the iconic “condensed books”—the book series that everyone’s grandmother read and is still going strong today. Laura edited and interviewed dozens of top authors from James Patterson and Mary Higgins Clark to Walter Isaacson and Ann Rule.

Prior to Reader’s Digest, Laura was managing editor at a number of magazines, including Family Life at Wenner Media. Along the way, she picked up a love of graphic design and technology, if not a love of magazine deadlines.

Three years ago, Laura combined her experience in the publishing world along with her design and managerial skills to start a consulting business helping successful authors manage their online presence. Visit her website Laura-e-Kelly.com for lots of tips and news for authors, as well as an animated video that shows why so many authors are having the urge to throttle their publishers.
