Layne Amerikaner is the senior communications specialist at People For the American Way and People For the American Way Foundation. In that role, she helps to lead the organizations’ communications work around efforts to get big money out of politics, protect voting rights, and promote LGBT equality. Amerikaner is also the co-author of "Thinking Outside the Girl Box: Teaming Up with Resilient Youth in Appalachia" which was published by Ohio University Press in January 2014.
