Len Shneyder

VP of Industry Relations, SendGrid

Len Shneyder, a 15 year email and digital messaging veteran; he's the VP of Industry Relations at SendGrid, the leading provider of cloud based email services. Len's serves as an evangelist, proponent of best practice, drives thought leadership and data-driven insights on industry trends based on the massive volume of email SendGrid delivers on behalf of their customers. His career in email began as a deliverability manager at Yesmail, then an InfoUSA company, shortly after the CAN-SPAM act was passed. He later joined Pivotal Veracity, a deliverability services provider, serving as a liaison between the ISP community and ESP partners, promoting best practices, helping resolve deliverability challenges and authoring many studies and white papers. Len remained with Pivotal Veracity after the company was acquired by Unica and later IBM. After working on IBM's early Marketing Cloud, Len joined startup Message Bus as Director of Marketing to help shape the startup's thought leadership and work with other startups just getting their feet wet in email. After Message Bus Len switched gears and and served as director of marketing for OtherLevels, a mobile marketing and analytics startup focused on push messaging in addition to working closely with other messaging focused organizations and startups. Most recently Len was the VP of Industry relations at SparkPost. Len is a long time member of M3AAWG (the Messaging, Malware, Mobile Anti-Abuse Working Group) and serves on its board in addition to Co-Chairing the Program Committee charged with organizing the thrice yearly meetings. In addition he's part of the MAC (Member Advisory Committee) of the EEC (Email Experience Council) where he serves as the organization's Vice Chair. The EEC is a professional trade organization focused on promoting email marketing best practices; the EEC is owned by the DMA (The Direct Marketing Association of America), a nearly 100 year old organization where he also sits on the Ethics Committee. In addition Len has worked closely with the ESPC (Email Sender & Provider Coalition) on issues surrounding data privacy and email deliverability.
