Linda Hanna Walling

Reverend; Executive Director of Faithful Reform in Health Care

Rev. Linda Hanna Walling is the Executive Director of Faithful Reform in Health Care, the largest interfaith coalition of national, state and local organizations and individuals that share a commitment to raising a faith-inspired vision for comprehensive and compassionate health care reform in the United States. She founded this coalition in early 2007 after serving for seven years as the Faith Project Director of the Universal Health Care Action Network (UHCAN). In that capacity she built a network of national, state and local faith leaders committed to working for health care justice in their public witness.

Linda’s work since 2000 has included developing educational, worship, and advocacy resources for people of faith who seek to include health care justice as part of their public witness. She has a special fondness for workshops and forums that provide opportunities for faith leaders who desire to transcend political partisanship and engage in compassionate dialogue about health care in the United States.

As an ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), prior to her work in health care justice ministry, Linda served for thirty years in congregational education, social justice and music ministries. She has served on her denomination’s national governing Board and its Executive Committee; chaired the church’s Division of Higher Education, and presided as Moderator of the denomination’s largest region (which includes the Republic of Texas!). She is currently the Senior Advisor for Health Care Reform for the Disciples Center for Public Witness.

Linda lives in Cleveland, OH with her husband and high school-age son. Her daughter is a senior at American University in Washington DC who will enter the Peace Corps in July following her graduation.
