Mary Anne Kluth is an interdisciplinary artist and received her MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute in 2008 and her BFA from California College of Arts in 2005. Her work explores the nexus of landscape imagery, narrative, and information, and her most recent body of work deals with descriptions of landscape from the 1860s, and contemporary theme park simulations. Her work has been exhibited at the Museum of Art and History in Santa Cruz, the San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art (both forthcoming), Art HK, Hong Kong, the Contemporary Arts Center in Las Vegas, and at FICTILIS in Seattle. She has had residencies at Kala Art Institute, Berkeley, and LOOP Arts, Oakland. Her work has been featured in ARTnews, Beautiful Decay, SF Art Enthusiast, and Harper’s, amongst other publications. Kluth has written catalog essays, reviews and contributed to various publications, including Art Practical, Artweek, Art Ltd. and Stretcher.org, and she has curated two art events set in an Oakland storybook theme park. She is represented by Gallery Wendi Norris, San Francisco.
