Mary Prefontaine's executive leadership experience in management, marketing and business has impacted both non-profit and for-profit organizations for more than 20 years. Driven by her passion to contribute to a better world, Prefontaine has shared her unique mix of vision, leadership and communications skills to benefit leaders in education, technology, healthcare, finance, tourism and government. She has travelled and worked in Africa, Asia and Europe fostering new partnerships in multiple industries and disciplines.

Prefontaine's career path has always had a global edge, including a role in communications with the Vancouver 2012 Olympic Games bid team. She is the first to admit that her greatest thrill is when her feet are on foreign ground and shared dialogue happens in multiple languages.

Prefontaine is a gifted group facilitator, presenter and executive coach and has worked with companies across the U.S. and Canada to educate leaders on ways to harness the power of their talent to create a unified, diverse and performance driven workforce.

As President & Chief Executive Officer, Prefontaine now focuses her talents on ICAN -– The Institute for Career Advancement Needs, a non-profit leadership development organization dedicated to engaging, educating and inspiring individuals to make their best contributions to their organizations and communities.

Prefontaine produces one of the largest leadership conferences for women in the U.S. and is the co-producer of an executive summit for female CEO's in Vancouver, Canada. She serves on the board of the University of Nebraska Business School National Advisory Board, the Methodist Women's Hospital Community Advisory Board and the Alliance for Business Ethics. Prefontaine divides her time between her home in Vancouver and her work in Omaha and wherever her work and her heart calls her. Her leisure time is shared between her yoga mat, her hiking boots and her bicycle.
