Melissa is the founder of Ayllu, which built one of the largest databases tracking social enterprises in over 80 developing countries, including a global directory and interactive maps of market trends in Energy and India. Ayllu was recently acquired by the Center for Science, Technology, and Society at Santa Clara University. Melissa is based in the San Francisco Bay Area, where her work bridges the gap between the technology and social sectors. She has been recognized by numerous institutions, including the World Bank, United Nations, and Echoing Green. She has also been published by multiple journals and in a recent microfranchising book from Greenleaf Publishing. Melissa previously worked for Ashoka, and as a consultant for startups in Africa, Europe, and the Middle East.
