My name is Michael Sykes and I’m a media professional. I’ve lived in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area for my entire life and I absolutely love it. I was born to be a journalist. I love the profession and love learning about people I otherwise wouldn't have met. Although my focus there has been politics at every stop I’ve been to, I’ve covered sports, zoning, budgetary matters, municipal festivals and a plethora of other things. My versatility is what keeps me going. I’m always open to covering something new–I welcome it! But sports will always be my first love. My goal is to become one of the best journalists you know, regardless of subject. I’m going to be the best I can be, and I want you to come along with me. My interests and experiences are now yours.
