Mirabai Bush

Co-founder, Center for Contemplative Mind and Society

A key contributor to Google’s Search Inside Yourself curriculum, Mirabai Bush has a unique background in organizational management, teaching, writing and spiritual practice. She teaches contemplative practices and develops programs through the application of contemplative principles and values to organizational life. She has taught mindfulness in many organizations including AMEX, Hearst Publications, Google and Fetzer Institute. She is the co-author of Contemplative Practices in Higher Education: Powerful Methods to Transform Teaching and Learning; Working with Mindfulness CD and co-author with Ram Dass of Compassion in Action. Her spiritual teachers include Neemkaroli Baba; Shri S.N. Goenka, Anagarika Munindra and IMS guiding teachers; and Tibetan Buddhist lamas Kalu Rinpoche, Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, Gelek Rinpoche, Tsoknyi Rinpoche and others. She has also practiced yoga for many years and studied Aikido with Kanai Sensei.

Mirabai was also a founding board member of the Seva Foundation and a co-founder of the Center for Contemplative Mind in Society and served as Executive Director there until 2008. Under her direction, The Center developed its programs in education, law, business and activism and its network of thousands of people integrating contemplative practice and perspective into their lives and work.
