Nancy Jallo

International medical educator

Dr. Nancy Jallo is an assistant professor of nursing at the Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia and a Clinical Nurse Specialist at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. She is a NIH funded nurse scientist and her area of research focuses on the biobehavioral mechanisms of maternal stress and the stress response as well as developing and evaluating stress coping interventions to improve maternal and infant outcomes. She teaches at both the undergraduate and graduate level in the School of Nursing and practices as a nurse practitioner in Richmond, Virginia. In 2011, Dr. Jallo was awarded with Outstanding Leadership in Program Award from the Virginia Chapter of the March of Dimes. She is an active board member of Physicians for Peace, an international nonprofit organization committed to training local healthcare professionals in developing regions to serve quality care in their communities. Since 2010, Nancy has provided outreach and training in developing regions as an International Medical Educator for Physicians for Peace.
