For the last six years, comedy’s biggest and brightest stars have gathered each November to perform on the world’s grandest stages as part of the industry’s most illustrious event – The New York Comedy Festival. The Festival has featured the country’s top comedians, including Bill Maher, Tracy Morgan, Dane Cook, Sarah Silverman, Artie Lange, Katt Williams, Steven Wright, Denis Leary, and Joy Behar, just to name a few. In 2007, the festival introduced its “Stand-Up for Heroes” event to benefit the Bob Woodruff Foundation. The event has featured performances by Robin Williams, Ricky Gervais, Conan O’Brien, Regis Philbin, and Bruce Springsteen. Additionally, the festival has featured special programming that has included panel discussions with the writers of Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” and “The Colbert Report” and NBC’s “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon,” as well as with the cast of the hit comedy series “Scrubs,” a star-studded fundraiser for the Scleroderma Research Foundation, a “New York’s Funniest Stand-Up” competition, and other great stand-up and sketch comedy events. This year’s festival promises to be the biggest yet, with more than 150 comedians performing in over thirty shows at more than ten venues. This year’s stellar line-up of talent includes Aziz Ansari, Louis CK, Margaret Cho, Kevin Hart, Gabriel Iglesias, Luis Jimenez, Rosie O’Donnell, Brian Regan, Nick Swardson and Adam Carolla. More festival events will be announced soon, so make sure to bookmark this page for updates.
