Quhramaana Kakar

Researcher and peace activist

Quhramaana Kakar won the N-Peace Role Model for Peace Award in 2012. She is a Cambridge based researcher and peace activist, and an advocate for women rights and development. She is currently pursuing her research on ‘women and peace-building’ and also leads a civil society organization ‘women for peace and participation’, promoting peaceful co-existence among Afghans. She has been leading development as well as educational programs with various international organizations and was also gender advisory to the High Peace Council in Afghanistan.
