Rajashri Chakrabarti

Economist, Federal Reserve Bank of New York

Rajashri Chakrabarti is an economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Her primary areas of interest include economics of education and education policy. Her current research focuses on school choice including vouchers and charters, accountability, implications of the No Child Left Behind law, impacts of the financial crisis and stimulus funding on schools, teachers and students, K-12 and higher education finance, and higher education issues such as student loans and financial aid. Prior to joining the NY Fed, Raji was a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard University in the John F. Kennedy School of Government's Program on Education Policy and Governance. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Cornell University. She serves on the editorial board of Education Finance and policy and also served on the Board of Directors of the American Education Finance Association.
