The Rev. J.C. Austin is Vice President for Christian Leadership Formation at Auburn Theological Seminary. He works with faith leaders across the country through a range of programs and consultations to develop the personal resilience, entrepreneurial spirit, and practical wisdom they need to lead social and organizational change. Previously, he served for ten years as associate pastor at Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church in New York City. He earned his Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary and is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Cape Town in the field of theology and public life. He teaches and speaks regularly around the country, particularly on strategic innovation in faith-based organizations, wealth and giving, economic ethics, and racial justice and reconciliation.
