Rhon Hayes is the co-founder of GREEN DMV, a non-profit organization seeking to promote clean energy and green jobs in low-income communities across America as a pathway out of poverty.

Rhon co-founded GREEN DMV to address the most critical social, economic and environmental concerns by educating low-income communities about energy efficient and green job training opportunities. Rhon focuses on educating small businesses in disadvantaged communities, providing environmental literacy programs in underserved school districts and working with faith-based organizations to empower the most vulnerable communities to paricipate in the green economy.

Washingtonian magazine named Rhon as a recipient of their 2010 Green Award, which honors those who protect the environment and teach others the importance of eco-friendly living. EPA administrator Lisa P. Jackson has publicly recognized GREEN DMV for its work to strengthen low-income communities through economic and environmentally focused solutions. Rhon regularly serves on energy panels nd his commentary has been featured in online and print publications.
