Rudy Koshar is the George L. Mosse / Wisconsin Alumni Research Professor of History, German & Religious Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is the author or editor of seven books, including Germany’s Transient Pasts: Preservation and National Memory in the Twentieth Century, and From Monuments to Traces: Artifacts of German Memory 1870-1990. He has won Guggenheim, American Council of Learned Societies, and other fellowships. He is also a fiction writer whose short stories have appeared in Prick of the Spindle, Revolution House, Eclectica, Black Heart Magazine, Empty Oaks, Forge, Turk's Head Review, and numerous other magazines.
