Rod Shrader

Professor of Entrepreneurship, University of Illinois - Chicago

Rod Shrader is Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) and is the founder and director of UIC’s Technology Ventures Program, which leads teams of graduate students systematically through the process of creating and launching technology-based businesses. Since inception of the program in 2005, student teams under Professor Shrader’s guidance have successfully launched 4 biotechnology companies. Shrader’s award-winning entrepreneurship research has been published in several top academic journals. He earned a Ph.D. in strategic management from Georgia State University in 1996. As a consultant he has helped several high-technology startups formulate their entry strategies.
