Critical and creative writer and artist; author of <em>Island Bodies</em>, assistant professor of English, Brooklyn College

Rosamond S. King, Ph.D., is a critical and creative writer and artist teaching in the English department at Brooklyn College. Her book Island Bodies: Transgressive Sexualities in the Caribbean Imagination is available from the University Press of Florida.

Other scholarship has appeared in numerous journals and collections, including Callaloo, SABLE, and the Journal of West Indian Literature. She has received numerous honors, including a Fulbright Award and fellowships from the Woodrow Wilson, Mellon, and Ford Foundations; Poets House; Rutgers University; and the University of Chicago. King’s community and professional service have included being a member of the boards of Organization of African Women Writers, the Audre Lorde Project, and the Center for Lesbian and Gay Studies at the City University of New York.
